Join us for the launch of The Dolls We Left Behind by Eugenia Krajewska. The book is a remarkable memoir, drawn from the author’s vivid memories and diary entries written in exile. It traces her family’s arrest, survival in a Siberian penal colony, and eventual escape with others fleeing to join General Anders’ Army to safety in Persia.
The book is both a personal testament and a historical witness to a period in history which should be better known in the west and is not forgotten by the descendants of the families who survived Stalin’s ruthless policies.
During the launch, you can look forward to:
A reading of selected passages from the book
Insights from the editor and family members
A discussion on the history and experiences of Polish families in exile
Opportunities to purchase copies of the memoir signed by the Editor
Whether you have personal connections to the history of the Kresy or simply wish to explore a poignant chapter of European history, this event promises to be both inspiring and memorable.
